AAPM Launches a Fundraiser to Help India Fight COVID-19
“It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.” – Mother Theresa
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, May 10, 2021: With 3.45 million active cases, on May 4th, India recorded 357,229 new infections over 24 hours, while deaths rose by 3,449 to 222,408, as per the recent health ministry data (Reuters, May 4th, 2021). As you may know, the second wave of COVID-19 has worsened in India, overwhelming it’s hospitals and healthcare system. Hospitals have reached the capacity and are struggling to accommodate new patients. Moreover, there is an acute shortage of medical equipment such as ventilators, oxygen concentrators, drugs, and ICU beds, which has caused a death surge throughout India. The crematoriums are at capacity and empty areas, including parking lots, have been converted into crematoriums to accommodate the dire need.
India urgently needs our help. American Association for Precision Medicine (AAPM), a nonprofit organization, has launched a fundraiser to Help India Fight COVID-19. Please share and make a tax-deductible contribution today:https://gofund.me/e7db04c3
AAPM is a 501C3 nonprofit organization on a mission to save lives. At the dawn of the pandemic, AAPM assembled ACT: The AAPM Coronavirus Taskforce, which was the world’s first global COVID-19 task force. ACT is a global network of proactive physicians, experts in clinical, scientific, technical, and advocacy backgrounds focused on helping the community amid the COVID-19 crisis. We have been helping hospitals and healthcare systems since the dawn of the pandemic. At present, ACT volunteers have been working tirelessly in India to identify and help hospitals and healthcare systems in need.
We have partnered with leading hospitals and health care organizations and have collectively sent relief to India. We have also been a part of a hospital-level effort by a group of proactive physicians, public health professionals, and volunteers who have been collaborating with the Governments of India and the USA to help fight India’s present COVID-19 battle. The group has been supplying ventilators, oxygen concentrators, BiPAP Machines, and drugs to the hospitals – at no cost.
Our task force members are also conducting food drives distributing food to hungry families and individuals affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. AAPM ACT is also working on building an online digital physician consulting service to help patients. ACT volunteers are also working in the rural areas, where they are partnering with local hospitals and clinics to establish small community hospitals in the undeserved areas to save the lives of rural patients (several of them are dying at home or in transit due to lack of access to healthcare).
With the recent surge in COVID-19 deaths, we can use your help in amplifying our efforts, to reach more hospitals in India. This is a lifetime opportunity to help India, and its distressed healthcare system, to get back on its feet. Join us by making a Tax-Deductible donation to support the cause. We always welcome large contributions, but because we serve patients, even the smallest contribution goes a long way. You can also help in this community effort by spreading the word among your family, relatives, friends, and on social media.
Let us all join forces and save lives!
Update: Thank you all. Our collective efforts are helping out hundreds of hospitals across India with lifesaving equipment and PPE. More help is on the way!
